SPEKTRUM
SPEKTRUM – biøs, Jakub Stelmach [A/V PERFORMANCE]
Spektrum is an interdisciplinary experience at the intersection of art, technology, and reflection on mental health. The project visually explores the mechanisms of the human brain, based on the concept of the spectrum—the diversity of states, emotions, and ways of perceiving the world. Presented in the context of the National Day of Fighting Depression, the event serves as a reminder that each of us experiences reality in a unique way.
The project’s concept draws inspiration from Stanisław Lem’s novel Solaris, in which the boundaries of cognition and the projections of consciousness become a metaphor for the complexity of the human inner world. Spektrum invites reflection on the delicacy of the processes occurring within ourselves, treating neurodiversity as a natural and fascinating element of human existence.
The audiovisual layer of the project illustrates the flow of neuronal impulses and their moments of synchronization. Light and sound move through the space, creating networks of connections and rhythms of activity that react in real time to shifting parameters. This is not a lecture, but an artistic narrative about the mind and sensitivity, creating a safe space to pause and surrender to total immersion.
The project “Innovative Forms of Presence – Image, Movement, Sound” was funded by the European Union NextGenerationEU.
