ALEKSANDRA SŁYŻ
ALEKSANDRA SŁYŻ – Polish composer, sound designer and sound director, graduate of the University of A. Mickiewicz in Poznań, the Poznań Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. In live performances, the artist focuses on finding subtle connections between acoustic instruments and modular synthesizers, creating rich, diverse drone structures that slowly but intensely pulsate and resonate with the surrounding space and the recipient. The second, equally important part of Słyż’s artistic practices are interactive sonification systems. In the years 2017-2022, she conducted artistic research, during which she experimented with the sonification of movement/gesture, human proprioceptive reflexes and various types of interactions. So far, Słyż’s works have been presented at the most important European music festivals, as well as in many prestigious spaces and concert halls, such as: 3537 (Paris); Aarhus Festival; MONOM studio, CTM Festival (Berlin); Fylkingen (Stockholm); Kunsthalle Helsinki; Kyiv Music Fest; Meet Factory (Prague); NODE Festival (Modena); ORFmusikprotokoll (Graz); Open Source Art Festival (Sopot); Rewire Festival (The Hague); Royal Concertgebouw, Fiber Festival (Amsterdam); Sanatorium of Sound (Sokołowsko); Stone Nest (London); Unsound (Kraków) or Warsaw Autumn.
