SOLAR RENEWAL

In order to make the wait for spring more pleasant, a series of therapeutic music sessions was organized – SOLAR RENEWAL. The beneficial effect of music on our psyche is a well-researched topic. Ambient music seems particularly predestined to play a therapeutic role. Using sounds, we introduced listeners to a state of deep relaxation.

The comfortable environment, soothing music and lounge accessories (pouffes, mattresses and loungers) with which we equipped the space allowed people of all ages to relax.

The lack of sun in the autumn and winter seasons contributes to low mood. In order to eliminate potentially bad moods, a light scenographic element was hung over the listeners, created by Mateusz “Matik” Sornat and Paweł Staszewski (ASP workshop).  The temporary “therapy office” in LORI (Laboratory of Moving Image and Interaction) at Raciborska 50 (ASP Katowice building, ground floor) was open every Saturday from February 25 to March 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. The concerts were preceded by a short lecture on mental health prevention and ways to cope with seasonal affective disorder.
