3D domain multi-channel sound emission system

Coupling multi-channel sound system and software.

The interface of the multi-channel sound system and software. In the system, the operator can determine and animate the position of the sound source (above or below the listener, to the side, behind or in front) as a fixed object in a three-dimensional space – a virtual and coupled listening space.

It is a full surround-sound system (3D) based on the wavefield synthesis theory. The system offers the possibility to prepare events in a 'live’ mode – from lectures, fashion shows to music concerts or theatre performances.  Practically, the limitation in its application is mainly the imagination of the system’s creators and operators. The proposed solution comes from the source technology: the company ACS B.V., which has close ties with the Department of Electroacoustics at Delft University of Technology. Delft University, the 5th technical university in the world and the most advanced in the study of acoustics, psychoacoustics and electroacoustics, has developed the technical principles for the use of wave field theory in the European Carrouso research programme.

System features:

  • real-time system function
  • control of the position of the source of the sound (X, Y, Z), its movement, direction and speed of movement, both for live and playback sources;
  • the possibility of integration with a system of variable acoustics;
  • interface for AVID, DiGiCo, and SSL mixing consoles;
  • interfaces for preferred sources, such as: REAPER;
  • clear and natural sound with no signs of processing.
